Abstract

PT.Sari Husada is one of the foremost company in Indonesia as a manufactur company of healthy nutritional products for babies & children, which one of the famous product is SGM. Production process over 24 hours in day, 7 days in month, to serve its customer demand must be supported by reliability machines. Every spare part in machine has a different hazard rate, so that reliability rate of its spare part will be different. Currently, replacement interval policy is based on MTBM (Maintenance Time Base Maintenance) system that maintenance system based on specified time cycle, which its setting is determined by history experience company of the shortest time of failure. Difficulties to control its spare part inventory is caused by replacement interval optimal didn’t determined. So that, company tends to stock its spare part in great quantities. This research uses preventive replacement age to determine optimal replacement interval. Implementation of its method is preventive replacement is based on spare part age or time in doing the last replacement, whether preventive replacement as well as failure replacement. Model that is used in inventory policy is periodic review. In this model, level of inventory will be reviewed in constant interval T. Ordering will be done if the end of period T, position inventory level below level maximum inventory target. If shortage is happen , then will be backordered. Output of this model is order interval T dan maximum inventory R. The Result of the optimal replacement interval is total downtime decreasing about 23% and level of availability decreasing about 0,0005%. And then from the result of period review policy, total cost increasing about 44%.
