Abstract

Efficiency of bed usage at Inpatient unit at a hospital needs to be given attention. Inpatient unit is the important thing at a hospital. Panti Wilasa Citarum hospital gives attention to it as an effort to evaluate of bed usage. At this time, information about that matter cannot be accessed on time and cannot be displayed using Barber Jhonsons Graph in which can ease to value efficiency of bed usage. Therefore, it needs information system that can result it. The aim of research was to result information system about bed usage at Inpatient unit that was restricted at Inpatient unit, Medical Record unit, and Director. Research was conducted using two steps namely qualitative research and pre-experimental research. Qualitative research was done to arrange and to create the computer-based information system. Pre-Experimental research, using one group pre and posttest design, was done to exam speed of access, preciseness of time, and representative information using considered average. Data was collected by observation and interview. Development of system was done using FAST method. Result of research shows that old information system has not resulted information, which is relevant, accurate, and on time. Average score of new system is higher than average score of old system. New system is more up to date data, easy to access, and on time. Unfortunately, information that is resulted by new system is only as an efficiency indicator for whole hospital.
