Abstract

KARKAS DAN LEMAK ABDOMINAL AYAM BROILER YANG DIBERI AMPAS BIR DALAM RANSUM (The Effect of Feer by-product in the Diet on Carcass and Abdominal Fat Percentage of Broiler Chicken) Mahfudz, L.D., F.L. Maulana, U. Atmomarsono dan T.A. ABSTRACT This experiment was aimed to study the effect of beer by-product meal on carcass and abdominal fat percentage of broiler chicken, was done at poultry science laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science Dipoengoro University Semarang from October to December 2005. The material used are 180 bird day old chicks (DOC) unsex, with average initial body weight 43,78 ± 5,4 g. Chicks were housed at floor system house divided into 30 pen and each pen was 90 x 75 x 50 cm for 6 birds. The ration consisted of yellow corn, rice brand, coconut meal, meat bone meal, pollard, beer by-product meal, fish meal and vitamin mix. The diet was iso protein – energy with 23% protein and 2.800 kcal/kg for starter and 20% protein and 2.900kcal/kg for finisher. Experimental design was completely rondomized design (CRD) with 6 treatment and 5 596 Karkas dan Lemak Abdominal Ayam Broiler yang Diberi Ampas Bir dalam Ransum Seminar Nasional Kebangkitan Peternakan – Semarang, 20 Mei 2009 replication. The treatment were T0 = diet without BBM; T1 = diet with 5% (BBM); T2 = diet with 7,5% BBM; T3 = diet with 10% BBM; T4 = diet with 12,5% BBm and T5 = diet with 15% BBM. The resulted data was analysed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) with F test to know the effect of treatment, and when there were significant continous to Duncan multiple range test. The result shown that body weight gain, last body weight, carcass percentage, carcass cut portion and abdominal fat did not affected by treatment. But, carcass fat weight is affected by beer by-product meal in the ration. The conclusion resulted from this experiment was the BBM can be used until 15% in the ration of broiler chicken Key words : broiler chicken, BBM, carcass and abdominal fat
