Abstract
ABSTRACTS The identity of a nation in Indonesian history is marked by a sentiment of anti-colonialism. Collective memory of suffering as an oppressed nation naturally results in antagonistic reaction towards any open act of humiliation from other nations. This may be the cause of tension and harsh reactions towards Malaysia which is deemed as constantly humiliating Indonesian identity. Understanding the initial concept of socionationalism formulated by Soekarno in his Pancasila speech may add some wisdom to show more balanced, harmony-and-humanity-oriented response may next cases arise.
