Abstract
Water is a compound essential for all known forms of life on earth today. Almost all living things need water, especially humans because ± 75% of the human body is water. But not all the water that is unfit for use because of the dirt contained. It is necessary to water treatment, one with the filtration process. From the experimental results obtained that the frame into one of the most optimum filter is the first frame of the sediment deposits reached 11,83% by weight with water content lost 3,14%. From the experimental results obtained that the two most optimum sampling time is 40 seconds with a weight of sediment produced reached 11,47% and moisture content of the lost 2,81 %. From the experimental results obtained that the third most optimum stirring time was 45 seconds with a weight of sediment reaching the water content of 11,33% and lost 2,96%. From the experimental results can be seen that the longer the sampling time and the stirring time, the greater the sediment is filtered by this filter press. This occurs because the longer the sampling time and time stirring the solution of CaCO3 will be more homogeneous so that the filtration process run better. Key words: water, filtration, sediment, time of stirring, sampling time
