Abstract

Potensi slag sebagai bahan pengganti agregat kasar dapat mengurangi pencemaran dari limbah baja yang tidak dapat diolah lagi. Telah banyak penelitian yang mencari sifat-sifat mekanis dari beton slag tersebut dan sekarang akan diteliti lebih lanjut mengenai perilaku absorpsinya, karena hal ini berpengaruh pada kekuatan beton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik absorpsi pada beton slag dan beton yang diberi silicafume terhadap kuat tekan dan kuat tariknya. Slag merupakan limbah baja dan silicafume merupakan bahan tambah yang berfungsi mengisi pori-pori dalam beton dan meningkatkan kekuatan beton. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pergantian atau substitusi agregat kasar (split) dengan slag limbah baja dengan rasio 100% menggunakan perbandingan volume dan bergradasi ideal menurut standar ASTM C33-02a. Metode mix design menggunakan metode DOE (Department of Environment). Mutu beton rencana adalah f’c 45 MPa (K542) dengan dimensi benda uji silinder (Ø = 10 cm, t = 5 cm) dan diuji pada umur 22 hari selama 10 hari. Metode pengujian ini berdasarkan ASTM C-1585 “Measurement of Rate of Absorption of Water by Hydraulic-Cement Concrete”, Peningkatan penyerapan air rata-rata oleh beton semen hidraulik. Pengaruh silicafume pada beton split dan beton slag dapat meningkatkan kuat tekan dan kuat tariknya, namun menurunkan absorpsi dari beton bila dibandingkan beton tanpa silicafume. Pengaruh pensubtitusian slag dapat meningkatkan kuat tekan dan kuat tarik. Tetapi berbeda dengan silicafume, absorpsi beton beton slag menjadi sedikit lebih tinggi daripada beton split. Kata kunci : absorpsi, slag baja, split, silicafume, kuat tekan, kuat tarik, gradasi ideal. vi ABSTRACT Potential of slag as a replacement material of coarse aggregate can reduce the pollution of waste steel that can’t to processing again. There are a lot of research to find the mechanism characteristic of slag concrete and know I’ll be continue to research about its absorption behavior, because it is influence to concrete strength. This research is purpose to know the characteristic of absorption at slag concrete and concrete that gived silicafume to its compressive strength ang tensil strength. Slag is waste of steel and silicafume is an additive material that use to fill in pores of concrete and increase the concrete strength. Research do by substitution of coarse aggregate (split) with slag steel with 100% ratio use volume ratio and fine gradation according to standart of ASTM C33-02a. Mix design method used Department Of Environvement (DOE). Plan concrete quality is f’c 45 Mpa (K-542) with dimension of cylinder (Ø = 10 cm, t = 5 cm) anf tested in age 28 days. This research test methode base to ASTM C-1585 “Measurement of Rate of Absorption of Water by Hydraulic- Cement Concrete”. The influence of silicafume to split concrete and slag concrete is to rise compressive strength and tensil strength, but reduce the concrete absorption if compare without silicafume The influence of substitution of coarse aggregate (split) with slag steel is to rise compressive strength and tensil strength. But different with silicafume, absorption of slag concrete is a little more higher then split concret.
