Abstract

PoverQ is a problemfaced by all countries, especially developing countries. Problem of povere is a complex, in terms of cause and views of its size. This is because poverty is multidimensional, meaning that all dimensions of poverQ concerning human needs that are extremely diverse. In addition, the dimensions of the human needs of its diverse rose intertwined with one another.Central Java located between the provinces of West Java, DKI Jakarta and East Java provinces are 'fast forward" through industrialization centered in the "Greater" and Surabaya. It is true that Java got the "transfer ofwealth,, (trickle down) from the neighboring provinces of progress, but at the same time also receiving a negative impact because a supplier of cheap labor is only enj oyed by those who lesve the village. A number o/ poor people, concentrated in certain areas. There are several things that caused the concentration o.f poverQ. Dffirences in the progress of development of an area would cause the income gap, which also would cause dffirent levels of poverQ. Based on the classification of the intensity distribution of poor population, show that in Central Java, there are several areas which classified high or very high. There are still many poor people in some areas. Based on entropy Theil index, in Central Jaya occur spatial concentration of economic activiQ. Smoll value index, which showed a small inequality and a large index value indicates greater inequality. The majority of urban ereas more advanced than the district. Growth occurs only in some places that are centers of growth with diffirent intensie.
