RERATA WAKTU PENGGUNAAN VENTILATOR PADA PASIEN SURGICAL ICU RS.DR.KARIADI SEMARANG PADA BULAN JANUARI 2010-JANUARI 2011

Abstract

Background : Surgical patients are postoperative patients who need help ventilator.One of surgical patient’s vital signs are monitored is breathing. Due the surgical patients, respiratory disorder often resulting in a variety of complications and death, so they require intensive and adequate supervision and treatment. In this case we use a ventilator. So far there are no data regarding the average of ventilator using time and surgical patients’s characteristic data. This study aims to find and get the data regarding the average duration of use ventilators in surgical patients treated at the Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang and characteristics data of surgical patients treated in ICU Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Method :This study is a descriptive study with cross sectional design with a sample of post-operative patients admitted to ICUs RS Dr.Kariadi and using a ventilator for the period January 2010-January 2011. Determination of samples is done by nonrandom purposive sampling. The instrument used is the primary form data, secondary form data and APACHE II Score’s form. The data obtained were calculated and analyzed use SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Result : From this research acquired sample of 57 patients and a mean duration of use ventilators in surgical ICU patient is 59,3 hours and average length of stay in intensive care was 97,69. From the data on patient’s diagnoses acquired the highest percentage is Post Craniotomi 17,5% and Post Laparotomy respectively at 17.5% too. Then the percentage of patients who was discharged from the ICU because of death is 52.6% and cause of recovery is 47.4%. High mortality is supported by a mean APACHE II score of 21.04. Conclusion : Average of ventilator operating period on surgical patients of ICU Dr.Karadi Hospital Semarang between January 2010-January 2011 is 59,3 hours and datas that can describe the characteristics of surgical patients treated in ICU Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang is sex,age, diagnosis, ventilator using time, time of treatment and APACHE II’s score.
