Background : Children with steroid resistant nephritic syndrome (SRNS) and relapse nephrotic syndrome are often hospitalized. It can affect the quality of life of the children. There is yet no research of quality of life in children with SRNS and relapse nephrotic syndrome. The objective of this study is to determine the difference between the quality of life in children with SRNS and relapse nephrotic syndrome. Methods : Cross-sectional study was conducted on 35 (25 relapse nephrotic syndrome and 10 SRNS) children RSUP dr. Kariadi in Semarang children’s outpatien clinic and home visits during April 2011 to June 2011. All subjects were interviewed by using General and Specific Chronic Kidney Disease PedsQL Questionnaire. Data Normality was analyzed by Shapiro-wilk test, comparison tests between SNRS and relaps nephrotic syndrome by independent t-test. Results : There was no significant differences between the quality of life in SRNS and relapse nephrotic syndrome with the general PedsQL (p=0.986) and the specific chronic kidney disease PedsQL (p=0.299). Conclusions : These data demonstrate no difference between the quality of life in children with SRNS and relapse nephrotic syndrome.
