PREVALENSI INFEKSI AMEBIASIS PADA SISWA MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH ISLAMIYAH DESA SIMBANG WETAN KECAMATAN BUARAN PEKALONGAN, JAWA TENGAH

Abstract

Background: There are still a lack of public knowledge, especially primary school students about the increasing prevalence of infections amebiasis. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of amebiasis infection and the factors underlying the emergence of amebiasis infection. Methods: This type of research used is descriptive quantitative research with cross sectional approach. The subject of this study were students in grade 1 through 6 MII Simbang Wetan Buaran Pekalongan, amounting to 68 students who meet the inclusion criteria. Data obtained from filling the questionnaire to find out the status of personal hygiene, hygiene and environmental sanitation, socioeconomic and knowledge of amebiasis infection, but it's also data obtained from stool examination by direct method to determine the prevalence of amebiasis Results: On a stool examination did not reveal any Entamoeba histolytica, Entamoeba coli but found as many as 14.7% and 13.2% of Giardia lambia. Of the questionnaire obtained 76.5% good personal hygiene students, 69.1% had a good environmental sanitation and 80.9% had a poor knowledge of amebiasis.
