Abstract

ABSTRAK Penggunaan tenaga manusia dalam dunia industri masih dominan, terutama kegiatan penanganan material secara manual (Manual Material Handling/MMH) yang berisiko besar sebagai penyebab utama penyakit tulang belakang (Low Back Pain). Di Pasar Johar Semarang, aktifitas loading, carrying dan unloading yang dilakukan secara manual dapat membahayakan kondisi tubuh para kuli angkut. Buruh angkut yang bekerja di Pasar Johar melakukan pangangkatan beban buah semangka melebihi berat angkut maksimal yang telah ditentukan. Keluhan yang paling banyak dirasakan kuli salah satunya adalah cidera tulang belakang (Low Back Pain). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi posisi kerja kuli sebelum adanya redesain alat bantu dengan cara melakukan analisa biomekanika untuk menghitung besarnya gaya kompresi (Fc) selama aktifitas loading, carrying, dan unloading. Memberikan rekomendasi atau usulan perbaikan desain alat bantu pengangkatan buah berupa keranjang yang berbentuk seperti tas ransel. Pengolahan data dilakukan perhitungan gaya kompresi untuk aktivitas loading, carring, unloading sebelum redesain dan setelah redesain untuk dilakukan perbandingan terhadap pengurangan nilai gaya kompresi yang terjadi. Perhitungan gaya kompresi dilakukan dengan membuat Free Body Diagram kemudian dalam penentuan sudut-sudutnya dan pembuatan sketsa desain keranjang menggunakan bantuan software CATIA. Dari hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa posisi tubuh kuli angkut buah saat aktivitas loading, carrying, dan unloading di Pasar Johar Semarang sebelum adanya redesain alat menunjukkan posisi tubuh yang rawan terhadap timbulnya cedera otot tulang belakang seperti posisi membungkuk pada ketiga aktivitas kerja. Penurunan nilai gaya kompresi (Fc) setelah redesain dapat mengurangi kelelahan kuli dalam satu kali aktivitas pengangkatan dan mengurangi keluhan nyeri pinggang (Low Back Pain) selama ini. Labour transport working in Johar Market conduct carrying watermelon fruit load exceeds the maximum weight of freight that has been determined. Complaints of the most experienced workers one of whom was injured spinal cord (Low Back Pain). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the coolies working position before the redesign tools by analyzing biomechanics to calculate the amount of compression force (Fc) during activities of loading, carrying, and unloading. Provide recommendations or proposed appointment of a tool design improvements fruit baskets shaped like a backpack. The data processing carried out calculations for the compression force loading activity, carrying, unloading before and after redesigning to do the comparison against the reduction of compression forces that occur. Compression force calculation is done by making Free Body Diagrams later in the determination of the corners and making sketches of the basket design using CATIA software assistance. From the data processing showed that body position during activities of fruit porters loading, carrying, and unloading at Johar Market, Semarang before the redesign tool shows the position of the body that is vulnerable to the emergence of spinal muscular injuries such as bowed position on all three work activities. Declining value of compression force (Fc) after redesigning reduces fatigue in a one-time appointment activity and reduce complaints of low back pain (Low Back Pain) so far.
