HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP ISTRI DENGAN PEMILIHAN KONTRASEPSI VASEKTOMI PADA PASANGAN USIA SUBUR

Abstract

Background: Vasectomy contraception is one of family planning program which is designed for man, especially on fertile spouses. Based on BKKBN of Central Java at 2009, Husband participation is so few, only 0,83%. This rareness could be influnced by several factors which is motivation from the family and the attitude and knowledge of wife to the carelessness of their husband in choosing vasectomy as their contraception in particular. Method: This was an analytic observasional research with cross-sectional design in which the wives at fertile ages on vasectomy and non-vasectomy acceptor spouses registered in family planning member at Kelurahan Sekayu, Kecamatan Semarang Tengah, Semarang city were the samples. There are 34 samples. The data was taken by interviewing the samples using validified questioner. The data was tested using Chi square and Fisher exact method using SPSS for Windows verion 15 with p < 0,05. Result: 12 respondences (35,3%) have good knowledge about vasectomy, 7 respondences (20,6%) choose vasectomy and the rest choose other than vasectomy. 20 respondences (58,8%) have average knowledge about vasectomy and 2 respondences (5,9%) have less knowledge with both categories are not choosing vasectomy. 19 respondences (55,9%) have good attitude towards vasectomy, 7 respondences (20,6%) choose vasectomy and the rest choose otehr than vasectomy. 15 respondences (44,1%) have bad attitude and not choosing vasectomy as their contraception. There is Relation between knowledge (p=0,000) and attitude (p=0,011) of wife with the chioice of vasectomy contracepcy of fertile spouses. Conclusion: knowledge and attitude of wife is related with the chioice of vasectomy contracepcy of fertile spouses.
