PENGEMBANGAN OBYEK WISATA WONDERIA DI KOTA SEMARANG

Abstract

Semarang city is one city that has a high level of economy in Central Java. Sectors that have important role in the economy at Semarang is trade, industry, buildings, and services sector. One of the activities in the service sector which plays an important role in the economy is tourism service which can be seen the amount of revenue (PAD), which comes from the entertainment tax, hotel tax, and restaurant tax. Wonderia is one of potential tourist attraction in the Semarang city. Potential possessed by Wonderia among others, is a very strategic location, ticket prices are relatively cheap, and is the only playground in the Semarang. Nevertheless, Wonderia still sights less developed compared with other attractions in the Semarang. Various measures have been carried out both by the manager and the Semarang City Tourims and Culture Departement in order to increase the number of visitors, such as advertising, eliminate entrance fees, and held a variety events in Wonderia. However, this policy has not yet been able to increase the number of visitors. The purpose of this study was to determine the internal and external conditions faced by Wonderia and then find out that development strategies should be prioritized by the manager Wonderia order to increase the number of visitors. Techniques used in sampling, amounting to 65 respondents was purposive sampling. The data analysis method used is the SWOT analysis and the AHP. The results of SWOT analysis mentions that Wonderia located in quadrant I, which means Wonderia is a tourist attraction that has considerable potential to develop in the future. The suggested policy is a progressive strategy. The results of the AHP analysis states that the criteria should be prioritized are the aspects of infrastructure with a value of 0.413. For the whole alternative recommended by the key person, should the priorities are alternative standardization because it has the highest score with a score of 0.167
