Abstract
Background: The data showed maternal and infant mortality rate in Indonesia is still high. Data from World Factbook 2008, Indonesia infant mortality rate of 31.04 ranks 77th of 222 countries in the world. Incidence of malnutrition in Central Java has increased from year to year. Posyandu revitalization is an attempt to address the issue of empowerment posyandu decrease in nutritional status and health of mother and child. Family activity at each posyandu activities will affect the state of nutritional status of children. The aim of the study is to determine the correlation between the mother's participation in posyandu activities which have improve the nutritional status of their children. Methods: The design study was observational and cross sectional design. The sample was mother living in Manyaran. Total sample were forty mothers with infant 12-36 months who meet the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. Data collected on May 2011. Responden were interviewed using a questionnaire and nutritional status of infants viewed using the KMS. Data analyze by SPSS for Windows 17.0 and statistical method by fisher exact test. Result: Mothers with routine participation of as many as 31 (77.5%) and good nutritional status of infants with a total of 29 (72.5%). Analysis of data using the fisher exact test for variables with the nutrition status of participation to get p= 0,007.
