Temperature and humidity represent primary factor influencing growth and growth of house dust mites and can be anticipated by usage air conditioner can lessen population of TDR so that lessen recurrence of allergic rhinitis. This study is aimed to prove the association between usage of air conditioner the incidence of recurrence in allergic rhinitis patients. Methods: This was a cross sectional study, using outpatient of rhinitis allergic as research sample. Fourty-four samples fulfilled exclution and inclution criterias in part of THT-KL RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. All samples interviewed and fill questionnaires. Tested Chi square with α= 0,05, CI95% and power 80% with SPSS windows for 15,0. Results: Chi square showed association significantly between usage of air conditioner the incidence recurrence of allergic rhinitis ( X2 = 5,87, p=0,015, RP=2,22(CI 95%= 1,07-4,59), while duration of usage air conditioner to test fisher's ( p=0,065) did not have association which is significant the incidence recurrence of allergic rhinitis. Conclusion: The use of air conditioner tends to reduce the recurrence of allergic rhinitis (positive allergic house dust mites) two times compared to patients who do not use the old air conditioner and duration of usage air conditioner was not associated the incidence recurrence in allergic rhinitis patients.
