ANGKA HARAPAN HIDUP DUA TAHUN PENDERITA LOW GRADE GLIOMA DAN HIGH GRADE GLIOMA YANG MENDAPATKAN TERAPI RADIASI

Abstract

Background : Gliomas are brain tumors that often founded 50 % of primary brain tumors. Radiotherapy with combination surgical treatment were associated with increased survival rate of gliomas patients. The purpose of this research is to know two year survival rate of low grade gliomas and high grade gliomas patients treated with radiotherapy. Methods : This research was an analytic observational study with a cohort approach to assess life expectancy. The sample taken from medical records of patients with glioma diagnose in 2005 to 2010 . Then follow up with interview the patients or the family with telephone or home visited. Data were analyzed using Kapplan Meier and Cox Regression survival analysis by grade. Results :There were 14 glioma patients included in this study. Overall survival rate of low grade glioma was 46,33 months with ranged from 37,98-54,8 months. Overall survival rate of high grade glioma was 14,88 months with range from 4,47-25,28 months.. Log rank test p=0,004. Conclusion : Survival of low grade gliomas at 24 months was greater than 80%, and high grade gliomas was less than 20%. Two year survival rate of low grade gliomas treated with radiotherapy was significant difference than two year survival rate of high grade gliomas treated with radiotherapy.
