PERBEDAAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG PENYAKIT JANTUNG BAWAAN ANTARA ORANGTUA PASIEN DI PUSAT PELAYANAN KESEHATAN PRIMER DAN TERSIER (Studi Kasus di RSUP Dr. Kariadi dan Puskesmas Pandanaran)

Abstract

Backgrounds :The prevalenceandincidence ofcongenitalheartdisease(CHD) are keep increasing over years. Public knowledge aboutCHDis still quitelow. One of the factorsthat influenceformation ofpeople’sknowledgeishealth services.InIndonesia, there are 3 levels of health services: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Parents of primary and tertiary health services may have different characteristics, thus their level of knowledge may also different. Objective:This study aims to evaluate the difference of knowledge about CHD between parents of patients in primary and tertiary health services Methods: This was an observational study with cross sectional approach. Subjects for this study were the parents of pediatric patients who came to RSUP Dr.Kariadi and Puskesmas Pandanaran from March-June 2011. This study recruited 100 respondents; 50 from RSUP Dr.Kariadi and 50 from Puskesmas Pandanaran.Data were collected by filling a questionnaire. The data were analysed by using Chi-Square/Fischer test. Results: Most parents of RSUP Dr.Kariadi patients (56%) had low level of knowledge.No respondents in RSUP Dr. Kariadi had a high level of knowledge. In Puskesmas Pandanaran, knowledge’s level of patient parent’s are 50% in low level of knowledge ; the others had intermediate level of knowledge (48%) and high level (2%). By using Chi-Square/Fischer test, the value of p=0.533. There were no significant characteristics difference between patients from both groups. Conclusion: There is no significant difference of the level of parental knowledge between patients in RSUP Dr. Kariadi and Puskesmas Pandanaran about CHD.
