Abstract
Energy crisis derived from fossil fuels also affected the field of electric power. This makes many people look for alternative energy sources. Among them is the utilization of wind power and water. Wind and water potential in Indonesia is quite large, especially in rural areas that had not even electricity. That potential energy can be harnessed for power generation, so can answer the challenge of electrical energy crisis. In this final project designed a generator can be coupled with a windmill or water, with a low speed. The generator uses a permanent magnet so it does not require initial excitation in generating a voltage. The designs of generator are axial flux type, uses ceramic type permanent magnet (Fe), uses two flanking rotor stator. For the use of electricity, AC voltage transform into DC voltage using a rectifier for charging accumulators. Based on the results of testing, on 100 rpm to 700 rpm the generator produces AC voltage 2.7 V to 33.33 V. The faster the rotation, the greater the voltage generated. In charging the accumulator, three-phase generator starcircuit system produces 12.63 Vdc, 0.68 A at 300 rpm. At 500 rpm three-phase star-circuit system produces 13.73 Vdc, 2.9 A, and three-phase delta-circuit systems produces 12.9 Vdc, 1.1 A.
