Abstract

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet data communication system that is integrated with a GSM mobile phone system. GPRS Packet switches use a technique means that the GPRS radio resources are used only if the customer sends or receives data. GPRS was widely deployed to provide a realistic data capability via cellular telecommunications technology. GPRS has several packet data measurement parameters such as for measuring the quality of the throughput and the success rate of data packets sending. In this final project is learn about the performance of GPRS packet data services on the PT. NexwaveRegional Central Java - Yogyakarta DivisionHCPT (Three) using the value throughput methods and the percentage PDASR caused by interference and the percentage of the low value of the throughput of data packets PDASR success rate by doing some analysis on the sets of the GPRS network to determine the effect of parameter data drivetest on the performance of GPRS system. GPRS throughput parameters were observed, among them Half Rate Activation Threshold (HRACTT), Dynamic Channel Allocation (GPDPDTCHA), GMANPRES, TRX Utilization, Carrier/Interference (C/I), RX Level, Alarm, ABIS Utilization, Link Configuration and parameters GUARMABIS. For parameters PDASR such REJPDASS radio, REJPDASS ABIS, REJPDASS PDT and REJPDASS other. As for the parameters GPRS throughput drivetest contained only RLC Throughput, C/I and RX Level. The process of data collection carried out during ten days at the date of January 20, 2011 until January 30, 2011 with an area which is divided into seven sub-routes. During the ten days will be known how the quality of the data packets on the GPRS network, such as the occurrence of low throughput, data transmission rejection and forth. It can be observed from the value of the parameters of both the throughput of GPRS, PDASR or drivetest. From the analysis throughput of GPRS for ten days obtained the highest throughput of GPRS base stations located on Tembalang V is the second sector for 54.13 Kbit, while the lowest value contained in the BTS Kedungmundu Raya, namely the first sector for 1.48 Kbit. For GPRS PDASR highest percentage results found on the BTS Sumurboto IV is the second sector of 98.83%, while the lowest percentage found on the BTS Tembalang V, namely the first sector of 93.70%. Keywords: Throughput, packet data, PDASR, drivetest
