Abstract
Polarimeter represent the appliance used to measure the level of optic rotation resulted by something compound having character of optical active which is there are in solute. This Polarimeter represent the appliance which special design for the polarization of light by something optical active compound. Optical active compound is compound which can turn around the polarization area, while such with the polarization is demarcation instruct the vibration in ray or other electromagnetic radiation. The experiment use the polarimeter with the substance of cashew nut shell liquid to determine the influence of optical rotation to concentration of cashew nut shell liquid. Experiment method is done by using variable control in the form of gasoline with different volume every variable which enhached in cahew nut shell liquid is dissolved in alcohol to determine the influence optical rotation to concentration. Based on the result of experiment optical rotation obtained,value every variable progressively a few and concentration value too. This is show that optical rotation influenced concentration of cashew nut shell liquid. Key words: polarimeter, cashew nut shell liquid, optical rotation, concentration.
