Abstract

Vegetable oil is oil that esctracted from plant. Kind of vegetable oil is used always are, corn oil,olive oil, soy bean oil, peanut oil, and etc. Soy bean oil is used for making margarine,cooking oil, and etc. Consentration oil improve of quality. The concentration can be calculated from optic rotation using polarimeter. Polarimeter is a equipment use polarization principle, is a light will be continued by polarizer in the shape of light that polarized. In practical use soybean oil as fixed variable and acetone 65% as unfixed variable. Variabel I, II, III, IV, V use a short pipe of polarimeter and Variabel VI,VII,VIII, IX, X use long pipe of polarimeter. The result of variable 1 with 10 ml soy bean oil pure is 1040 and variable VI is 109,50. The result of varibel II is 970 and Variable VII is 103°. The result of Variable III is 56,50 and variable VIII is 77,5°. The result of Varible IV is 56,50 and Variable IX is 60°. The result of variable V is 39° and variable X is 41,50. The adding of solvent which is more causing the opric rotation is low. Beside that, it can cause concentration and soybean oil quality will lower too.
