Abstract

Solid drayed meaning the separation of small amounts of water or other liquids from solids. One of drying equipment is rotary dryer, it consist of one rotary cylinder, horizontal, or rather oblique downwards with DCS (Distributed Control System), in order to control manufacturing process continually or batch-oriented. Green bean seeds are used to test the tool as much as 2 kg on each variable with the drying experiments performed at 75°C, 85°C and 95°C. The greatest rate of drying at a temperature of 95°C of 0,055 lb/ft2 h. Meanwhile, at a temperature of 85°C of 0,044 lb/ft2 h and at 75°C of 0,022 lb/ft2. Likewise with the evaporated water content in the material, most of which is at a temperature of 95°C by 2,5. At a temperature of 85°C and 75°C evaporated the moisture content of 2% and 1%. The longer the time the water content evaporated as well as the higher the rate of drying. Drying flow straight equal with temperature and equal with evaporated H2O. As a result, the best operational condition is on temperature 95°C because it’s the highest evaporated water and also the larger drying flow that can make the corn more dry. Keywords: drying, green beans, rotary dryer, temperature, the rate of drying
