Abstract
Today the world's oil supply is dwindling, because the need for petroleum is increasing, while oil is a natural resource that is not renewable. It required an alternative to find a substitute source of energy. This country is known to have abundant natural resources. One is a palm sap is used as materials for bioethanol. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of adding yeast (yeast) to the acquisition of ethanol. The substrate used is palm sap with the addition of yeast (yeast) respectively 0.3%, 0.5%, and 0.7% of total raw material is palm sap. The process used in the manufacture of bioethanol from palm sap palm sap is first filtered to separate cleaned all the dirt that the possibility of water mixed in the juice during the process of tapping, and then carried out the fermentation by saccaromyces cereviceae for 7 days, followed by the distillation process as well as to raise the level of ethanol used in the dehydration process calcium oxide. The results of this study is bioethanol with 60% -90% levels that can be used as one of alternative energy sources from fossil energy sources. Keywords : palm sap, fermentation, Saccaromyces cereviceae, bioethanol
