Abstract
Teknologi jaringan komputer telah merasuk hampir ke seluruh segi kehidupan. Banyak keuntungan yang didapatkan dengan pengaplikasian teknologi jaringan komputer. DHCP adalah salah sate protokol jaringan yang mampu mengalokasikan. IP address secara otomatis kepada klien tanpa harus mengkonfigurasikannya secara manual. Hal ini sangat memudahkan tugas seorang administrator dalam mengatur jaringan. Protokol DHCP sangat beiuianfaat untuk diterapkan dalam jaringan dari skala kecil sampai skala besar. Tugas akhir ini membahas bagaimana DHCP bekerja baik dari sisi klien maupun dan sisi server serta membuat sebuah perangkat lunak simulasi yang menggambarkan mekanisrne kerja DHCP dalam memberikan IP address kepada klien. Tahapan-tahapan dalam pengernbangan perangkat lunak simulasi DHCP adalah : peramusan requirement perangkat lunak, analisis kebutuhan perangkat lunak, proses desain perangkat lank, implementasi perangkat lunak dan pengujian perangkat lunak. Perangkat lunak yang dihasilkan memberikan gambaran proses yang terjadi dalam DHCP. Perangkat lunak simulasi DHCP dibuat menggunakan Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. Computer networking technology is almost influence all parts of life facet. There are so many advantages that we can get by applying those technology. DHCP is one of networking protocol that can give IP address automatically to the client computer, without configure it manually. It can make administrator's job become easier to manage all the computer in one network. DHCP protocol is very useful to applied both in a small network or in a complicated network. This final project is elaborate about how does DHCP work both in client side and server side and also make a simulation software that describe the mechanism of DHCP server in giving IP address to the client. The steps in this development DHCP simulation software are software requirement analysis, software analysis, software design, software implementation and software test. The yielded software show all process in DHCP. This DHCP simulation software is made by using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. This document is Undip Institutional Repository Collection.
