Abstract
Copper ion has electron configuration that is enable as center ion of complex compound such as copper(11)-hypoxanthine. Complexation of copper(II)¬hypoxanthine is necessary learnt because of it's biological system involved in purine catabolism. The research of the complex formation of Cu2÷ with hypoxanthine ligand had been studied. Copper(11)-hypoxanthine complex formation was influenced by pH. The condition of pH can influence keto or enol form from hypoxanthine. pH influence at copper(II)-hypoxanthine synthesis which was examined were from 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Complex compound formed was extracted with chloroform. The characterization of complex were performed via a qualitative test by analyzing their infrared and ultraviolet spectra and quantitative test using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The result showed there was pH influence at hypoxanthine ligand interaction with copper. Optimal result of hypoxanthine ligand interaction with copper was at pH = 8 with degradation of copper rate in the water phase equal to 97,2 %. This matter was strenghtened by ultraviolet spectra and infra-red spectra obtained. vi This document is Undip Institutional Repository Collection.
