Abstract

Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan rasio Al/Fe akan meningkatkan basal spacing lempung, nilai terbesar 20,5286 A diperoleh pada rasio A175Fe25, dengan daya pemucatannya terhadap minyak sawit sebesar 91,99 %. the existence of Indonesian natural clay was abundance, Its have laminated structure with low basal spacing, By modify natural pillar of clay use bulky pillar will be yielded layer with high basal spacing. Metal oxide Intercalated into interlayer space of clay was carried out by adding mixture of AlC13 and FeCl3 solution into suspension of clay, then stirred for 24 hours, after that filtered, dried and calcinated at 300 °C. The product was characterized by X-ray difractometer and adsorptivity test was carried out for bleaching palm oil. It was concluded that increasing ratio Al/Fe will increased basal spacing, the highest basal spacing 20,5286 A was obtained at ratio A175Fe25, it bleaching power to palm oil was 91,99 %.
