Abstract
Perak merupakan logam putih mengkilap yang memiliki banyak kegunaan, misalnya untuk bahan—bahan perhiasan dekoratif maupun bahan elektrode. Preparasi logam perak dapat dilakukan melalui berbagai cara, antara lain melalui metode elektrolisis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh lapis tipis perak secara elektrokimiawi dan menentukan pengaruh bahan anode terhadap kualitas perak hasil elektrolisis. Sel elektrolisis tersusun atas katode karbon dan jenis anode bervariasi, yaitu karbon, tembaga dan timbal. Medium elektrolit berupa larutan kompleks perak diamina. Elektrolisis dilakukan pada beda potensial 1,5 volt selama 2 jam memakai variasi kuat arus 0,2; 0,4; 0,6; 0,8; 1,0 mA. Endapan hasil elektrolisis dianalisis menggunakan foto mikroskop dan dikarakterisasi berdasarkan metode XRD. Hasil foto mikroskop menunjukkan pada penggunaan anode karbon menghasilkan endapan putih mengkilap yang tersebar merata pada permukaan katode. Spektra XRD dengan nilai d 2,34; 2,03; 1,44; 1,23 dan 1,18 A menunjukkan bahwa endapan hasil elektrolisis adalah perak. Endapan yang dihasilkan pada penggunaan anode karbon merupakan hasil terbaik dibandingkan penggunaan anode tembaga dan timbal. Hal ini karena karbon bersifat inert. Ditunjukkan oleh linearitas hubungan antara kuat arus dan massa endapan perak, sistem elektrolisis mengikuti hukum Faraday. Silver is shining metal which have many function, such as for decoration and electrode materials in electrolytic process. Preparation of silver have been done by several methods, one of them was electrochemichal method. The aim of research were getting silver thin layer and determining the influence of anode materials toward silver deposit that product. Electrolytic cell was constructed from 50 mL beker glass and a pair of electrode. Carbon used as cathode while lead, copper and carbon used asa anode. Complex silver diammine used asa electrtolyte solution. Electrolytic cell operated at constant potential 1,5 volt for 2 hours under variation of current 0.2; 0.4; 0.6; 0.8; 1.0 mA. The thin layer deposits was qualitative analyzed by microscop camera and it was characterized by X—Ray Diffaction (XRD) method. The research result show that carbon anode gave the best quality of product. The X—Ray diffractogram d with point 2.34; 2.03; 1.44; 1.23 and 1.18 A show that deposit was really silver . Shown by linearity current and massa of deposits, electrolytic process obey Faraday's Law.
