Abstract
Telah dilaporkan, Melia azedarach Linn mengandung senyawa-senyawa bioaktif dan dapat digunakan sebagai obat-obatan tradisional dan pestisida. Pada penelitian ini telah diisolasi senyawa steroid dan ditentukan aktifitas senyawa (LC50) dari dawn Melia azedarach Linn menggunakan etil asetat sebagai pelarutnya. Ekstraksi dilakukan menggunakan metode maserasi untuk mendapatkan ekstrak kasar (crude). Kemudian pemisahan senyawa-senyawanya dilakukan dengan kromatografi kolom vakum. Untuk menentukan struktur senyawa basil isolasi digunakan analisis spektroskopi. Data spektroskopi UV, IR dan MS menunjukkan bahwa senyawa hasil isolasi mempunyai serapan 2..„,„1,, 242 nm, mengandung gugus-gugus alkil dan karbonil serta mempunyai berat molekul m/e 279. Berdasarkan data spektroskopi dan pendekatan kemotaksonomi serta uji golongan diusulkan bahwa senyawa hasil isolasi merupakan senyawa golongan steroid. Aktifitas senyawa hasil isolasi (LC50) 23,20137 ppm, dimana berdasarkan Brine Shrimp Lethality Test senyawa tersebut bersifat sitotoksik. It has been reported that Melia azedarach has bioactive compound and can be used as traditional medicine and pesticides. This reseach has been done to isolated steroid compound and calculated bioactive compound (LC50) from leaf of Melia azedarach Linn using etil asetat as solvent. Extraction was realized by maseration method using etil asetat as solvent, obtained a dark extract (crude). Therefore, vaccum column chromatography separation techniques were used for isolation. The structures of isolated compound were determined on the basis of spectroscoPic analysis. From spectroscopyc analysis UV, IR and MS, showed 40k, 242 nm, contains alkyl and carbonyl group with molecular weight 279 m/e. Base on spectroscopic analysis and plant's chemotaxonomy study proposed that isolated compound is steroids compound. The activity of the isolated compound showed LC50 23,20137 ppm in which according to Brine Shrimp Lethality Test this compound has a possibility as cytotoxic agent.
