Abstract

Adsorption capacity of natural zeolite can be increased by dealumination. The method that had been done were washing zeolite by acid' solution and heated with temperature of 120°C. Then each of them was soaked with NH4C1 1 M solution for 4 hours, respectively, and calcinated at temperature of 550°C. Characterization of zeolite modification used AAS. And then the zeolite was applied as adsorbent of NO3—, one component of PT. PUSRI wastewater. The research was conducted by shaking activated zeolite and wastewater for 90 minutes. Concentration Analysis of nitrate was differented by spectrofotometre. The variable of the research was sampling locations, inlet and outlet. The result show dealuminated zeplites have a great ratio of Si/A1 from 24.23 to 34.10 and could adsorb NO3 at outlet f'ow until 61.41 % in the morning and 47.62 % at the afternoon. And then at inlet flow until 49.82 % in the morning and 48.27 % at the afternoon.
