Abstract

The use of Supporting Liquid Membranes (SLM) system for heavy metals sepparation using D2EHPA as carrier and liquid membrane has been investigated. The porous membrane which function as support was impregnated by carrier and placed between feed and receiving phases. The variables are D2EHPA concentration and counter ion kind. The experiment result show that the highest percentage of transportated metal has been obtained at I M of D2EHPA concentration. Increasing in viscosity cause by counter ion different, wheter it is 0.05 M CI03— and NO3—, resulting smaller percentage of transportation. The existent of salting out effect caused by adding of both counter ion was studied also. The percentage of transporttation was found higher if the sepparating process continued by renewal strip solution and reimpregnation membrane.
