Abstract

Telah lama dilaporkan, tanaman paitan (Tithonia diversifolia, Gray) dapat digunakan sebagai obat-obatan dan pestisida. Pada penelitian ini telah diisolasi senyawa dan fraksi metanol bunga paitan (Tithonia diversifolia, Gray). Ekstraksi dilakukan menggunakan metode perkolasi dengan metanol sebagai pelarut, diikuti dengan fraksinasi senyawa menggunakan metode kromatografi kolom vakum dan kromatografi kolom gravitasi. Dari fraksinasi ini telah diperoleh kristal yang dimurnikan lebih lanjut menggunakan sikloheksana. Kristal hasil isolasi meleleh pada suhu 105 — 106 °C dan memberikan hasil uji positif terhadap uji golongan seskuiterpen lakton. Dari analisis MS memberikan puncak¬puncak fragmentasi m/e 360, 240, 212, 196, 120 (sebagai "base peak"), 92, 64 dan 38. Analisis spektroskopi dengan UV dan IR menunjukkan bahwa kristal hasil isolasi mempunyai serapan pada Xmaks 262 nm dan 290 nm, mengandung gugus-gugus C-H, C=0 ester dan C-0. Berdasarkan data spektroskopi dan pendekatan kemotaksonomi diusulkan bahwa kristal hasil isolasi merupakan senyawa golongan seskuiterpen lakton yang mempunyai berat molekul m/e 360. It has been reported that wild sunflower of the plant (Tithonia diversifolia, Gray) can be used as ingredients and pesticides. At this research has been isolated compound from methanol fraction of wild sunflowers (Tithonia diversifolia, Gray). Extraction was realized by percolation methode use methanol as a solvent, followed by vacum coloumn chromatography and gravitation coloumn chromatography. From this fractination was obtained crystal that purified with cyclohexane. Isolated crystal melt at 105-106 °C and shows positive test for sesquiterpene lactones compound. In analize with MS gives fragmentation at mle 360, 240, 212, 196, 120 (as the base peak), 92, 64 dan 38. From the UV and IR spectrum give information that crystal has adsorption at 4max. 262 nm and 290 nm, contains C-H, C=C, 0=0 ester and C-0.
