Abstract
Sublation is a method to recover surfactant from its solution which is based on surfactant adsorption at gas — aqueous interfaces. Cellulose acetate membrane which has porous around 0.2 i.trn had been used in this process to increase the surface area of N2 gas bubles. Thus, ABS surfactant adsorption at N2 gas bubles increase and be perfectly. Sublation process had been done by additional of salts to the ABS surfactant solution and varying N2 gas pressure, so sublation results was maximum . Sublation results was analized by MBAS method (with Uv --Vis Spectrofotometer) and IR Spectrofotometer. The IR spectrum of both early ABS surfactant and sublation result showed that they had still the same groups and it showed that ABS surfactant were really recovered from its solution in this process. Surfactant recovery were 2.47 %; 33.93 %; 69.22 %; 70.75 % and 70.75 % on additional of NaCI and Nal-1CO3 salts: 0 and 0 gram, 5 and 0,25 gram, 60 and 3 gram, 80 and 4 gram, 100 and 5 gram. Recovery results with various or N2 gas pressure with additon of 80 gram NaCI dan 4 gram Nal-1CO3 were 47.75 %; 70.75 %; 96.83 %; 96.83 % on N2 gas pressure 1/16; 1/8; 1/4; 1/2 kg f cm-2. The results showed that addition of 80 gram NaCI and 4 gram Nal-ICO3 and at pressure 1/4 kg f cm sublation process was optimum, with recovery 96.83 %, so that the additional of amount of salts were required in this process and cellulose acetate membrane can be used in this sublation process.
