Abstract

Chromium is shining metal used as sheating agent. It can be obtained from laboratory and industry wastes and also as minerals. Chromium can be obtained as thin layer through electrolysis method. Electrolysis has been conducted using dichromic acid as electrolyte solution. Electrolysis carried out at current of 0.2; 0.4; 0.6; 0.8 and 1.0 A for 60 minutes. Electrolysis cell constructed by using copper as cathode and lead, copper and carbon as anode. Type of anode was varied to determine the influence of anode to the chromium deposites. Electrolysis of dichromic acid solution resulted tin layer chromium. The efficiency of Pb, Cu and C anodes were 8.s42%; 5.30% and 8.74% respectively. Chromium deposites that were analized by XRD method resulted d values that are 1.83; 1.87; 2.02; 2.31 and 2.07 A showed chromium.
