Abstract

The modification of natural zeolite's pore has been investigated with variation concentration of tetra metil ammonium chloride (template) using, hydrothermal method. Hydrothermal was followed by calcination. Modification variables was template concentration at hydrothermal process that affected to pore's characteristics, those are spesific surface area, pore size distribution, and pore volume. Template variation concentration that had been used were, 1% w/w (ZHI), 5% w/w (ZH2), 10% w/w (ZH3), 50% w/w (ZH4), and 100% w/w (ZH5). Variables that made constant were time and temperature of hydrothermal, zeolite weight, also time and temperature of calcination. Adsorption activity test was done with zeolite modificated, using oleic acid in hexene as adsorbat. The result showed that at pore size distribution analysis, natural zeolite pore was change from 83,7% micropore to 100% mesopore. Activity test as adsorben showed decreasing of oleic acid adsorption activity at ZH3, ZH4, and ZH5.
