Abstract
Adsorpsi Cd2 menggunakan abu sekam padi perlakuan dengan NaOH Pembakaran sekam padi pada temperatur 300 °C selama 2 jam menghasilkan abu sekam padi yang bersifat amorf, yang memiliki pori-pori dan gugus fungsi —OH yang berperan dalam adsorpsi terhadap Cd2÷. Dalam penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan adsorpsi abu sekam padi terhadap Cd2+, dengan merendam abu sekam padi dalam larutan NaOH 10 %. Selama perendaman abu sekam padi mengalami pemekaran, yang akan meningkatkan porositas adsorben. Sementara abu sekam padi yang lain tidak di perlakukan dengan larutan NaOH 10 %. Dalam penelitian ini dipelajari pengaruh variasi pH, variasi waktu kontak dan variasi konsentrasi Cd2+. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Cd2+ yang teradsorpsi oleh abu sekam, padi dengan perendaman sedikit lebih banyak dari pada abu sekam padi tanpa perendaman. Adsorpsi Cd2÷ oleh kedua adsorben tersebut optimum pada range pH = 5-7, waktu kontak = 150 menit dan konsentrasi Cd2÷ = 40 ppm dengan kapasitas adsorpsi abu sekam padi perlakuan = 1,372 mg.g-1 dan abu sekam padi tanpa perlakuan = 1,308 mg.e. Heating rice husk at temperature 300 °C for 2 hours result rice husk ash that has amorphous properties. It has pores and functional group of —OH which have abillity in adsorption processes. The research to increase rice husk ash ability in adsorption of Cd2+, was done by soaking rice husk in 10 % NaOH solution. While soaking processes, rice husk ash become swelling that caused adsorben's porosity increase. The parameters observed were of influence of pH variation, contact time variation and concentration of Cd2+ variation. Adsorption Cd2+ by rice husk ash treated by soaked NaOH was somewhat greater than the other one. The optimum Cd2+ adsorption by both of adsorbent were at range pH = 5-7, contact time = 150 minutes, and concentration of Cd2+ = 40 ppm with adsorption capacity of rice husk ash treated by soaked NaOH = 1,372 mg.g4 and the other one
