Abstract
Zeolit Alam dapat diaktifasi untuk meningkatkan kapasitas adsorbsinya. Pada penelitian terdahulu telah dilakukan aktifasi terhadap zeolit alam dari Cipatujah oleh Sri Suparniati dengan jalan dealuminasi namun belum diaplikasikan sebagai adsorben surfaktan. Zeolit alam yang telah diaktifasi mempunyai ratio Si/Al tinggi dan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai adsorben senyawa organik non polar. Dalam penelitian ini zeolit alam dari Cipatujah dimanfaatka_n sebagai adsorben surfaktan anionik yang merupakan senyawa aktif sabun (Na-stearat) dan detergen (ABS) Di harapkan zeolit aktif mempunyai kapasitas adsorpsi yang baik terhadap surfaktan anionik. Dealuminasi dilakukan menggunakan NH4NO3 1 M dan kalsinasi pada suhu 300 °C. Zeolit aktif dapat mengadsorpsi Na-stearat hingga 58,44 % dan dapat mengadsorpsi ABS hingga 31,05 %. Zeolit alam Cipatujah yang telah diaktifasi mempunyai kapasitas adsorbsi yang baik terhadap surfaktan anionik. Kapasitas adsorbsi zeolit aktif terhadap Na-stearat lebih hesar dibandingkan dengan kapasitas adsorbsi zeolit tersebut dengan ABS. Natural zeolite can be activated to increase its adsorption capacity . Previous research report dealumination process to activate natural zeolite from Cipatujah had been carried out by Sri Suparniati, but its aplication as surfactant adsorbent had not been performed yet. Activated natural zeolite which posses high ratio of Si/Al can be applied as adsorbent of non polar organic compounds. In this research activated natural zeolite from Cipatujah is used as adsorbent of anionic surfactant, that is active component of soap and detergent. Dealumination process is carried out using 1 M N1-14NO3 and calcinated at 300 'C. The result inform activated zeolite can adsorp Na-stearic until 58.44 %. Its adsorbtifity to ABS is 31.05 %. Natural zeolite from Cipatujah which had been activated has good adsorbtifity to anionic surfactant. Adsorption capacity of activated zeolite on Na¬stcaric is greater than on ABS.
