Abstract

Pemucatan Minyak Goreng Sisa Pakai dengan Karbon Aktif Telah dilakukan pemucatan minyak goreng sisa pakai dengan menggunakan karbon aktif. Pemucatan dilakukan dengan mencampurkan minyak sisa pakai dengan karbon aktif pada kisaran suhu 29-80 °C dengan selang suhu 10 dan kisaran waktu adsorpsi 30-90 menit dengan selang waktu 15 menit. Daya pemucatan ditentukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Angka asam dan angka peroksida ditentukan secara titrimetri. Kondisi optimum adsorpsi dicapai pada suhu 70 °C dengan waktu kontak 90 menit. Disimpulkan bahwa daya pemucatan karbon aktif terhadap minyak sisa pakai adalah 20 %, penurunan angka peroksida 49,4995 %, penurunan angka asam 0,0218 %. Pala laju adsorpsi sesuai untuk reaksi orde satu. Bleaching of used food oil by active carbon have been conducted. Bleaching was carried out by mixing the oil and active carbon at range of temperature 29-80 °C with interval 10 °C and mixing time 30-90 minutes with interval 15 minutes. Bleaching power was determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, acid value and peroxide value were determined by titrimetric method. The optimum condition was reached at 70 °C, with contact time 90 minute. It was concluded that the bleaching power active carbon on used food oil 20 %, decreasing peroxide value 40,4995 %, decreasing acid value 60,0218 %. The rate adsorption agrees for first-order reaction.
