Abstract
Telah diteliti pengaruh penambahan aditif benzophenon terhadap sifat fotodegradatif PVC dan aditif kitin terhadap sifat biodegradatif PVC. Filem PVC dibuat dengan metode penguapan pelarut. Aditif benzophenon sebanyak 0,5% dan aditif kitin sebanyak 5% ditambahkan pada PVC. Filem PVC difotodegradasi dengan sinar UV selama 30, 50, 70, 90, 110 jam dan dibiodegradasi dengan bakteri Clostridium selama 3, 4, 5 dan 6 minggu. Tingkat degradasi terukur melalui penurunan berat kering filem, penurunan berat molekul, perubahan spektra UV dan IR. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan penurunan berat kering PVC terfotodegradasi pada variasi waktu tertentu tanpa aditif adalah 4,91%, 6,20%, 7,97%, 9,29%, 10,07% dan dengan aditif benzophenon adalah 0,506%, 1,807%, 3,105%, 3,98%, 2,70%, penurunan berat molekul PVC tanpa aditif dari 14080 menjadi 10882, 7400, 8870, 8044, 6360 dan dengan aditif benzophenon dari 14080 menjadi 13264, 12205, 12072, 11746, 11945 serta poia spektra UV dan IR yang berbeda. Untuk biodegradasi pada variasi waktu tertentu, penurunan berat kering PVC tanpa aditif adalah 0,27%, 1,067%, 0,988%, 0,846% dan dengan aditif kitin adalah 0,9474%, 2,583%, 2,352%, 1,837%, penurunan berat molekul PVC tanpa aditif dari 14080 menjadi 12940, 12653, 12143, 12295 dan dengan aditif kitin dari 14080 menjadi 12305, 11380, 11352, 12000 g,ram/mol serta pola spektra UV dan IR yang berbeda. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa aditif benzophenon berfungsi sebagai stabilisator PVC oleh sinar UV dan aditif kitin dapat meningkatkan sifat biodegradatif PVC. It had been researched the effect of benzophenone additive to photodegradative nature of PVC and chitin additive to biodegradative nature of PVC. PVC film's made by evaporating solvent's method. Benzophenone 0,5% and chitin 5% is added on PVC. PVC film's photodegradated by UV light as long 30, 50, 70, 90, 110 hours and biodegradated by Clostridium's bacteria as long 3, 4, 5, 6 weeks. The kinetics of degradation is followed by weight-loss kinetics, the changing of relative molecular weight, ultraviolet and infra red spectra. The results showed weight-loss of photodegradated PVC without additive at some variation of times 4,91%, 6,20%, 7,97%, 9,29%, 10,07% and with benzophenone additive 0,506%, 1,807%, 3,105%, 3,98%, 2,70%, decreasing of relative molecular weight from 14080 to 10882, 7400, 8870, 8044, 6360 for PVC without additive and to 13264, 12205, 12072, 11746, 11945 for PVC with benzophenone additive, changing of UV and IR spectra. Biodegradation at some variation of times showed weight-loss of PVC without additive 0,27%, 1,067%, 0,988%, 0,846% and with chitin additive 0,9474%, 2,583%, 2,352%, 1,837%, decreasing of relative molecular weight from 14080 to 12940, 12653, 12143, 12295 for PVC without additive and to 12305, 11380, 11352, 12000 for PVC with chitin additive, changing of UV and 1R spectra. It could be concluded that benzophenone additive on PVC was acted as UV stabilizer and chitin additive increase the biodegradative nature of PVC.
