Abstract
Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh konsentrasi asam sulfat dan waktu perendaman terhadap kandungan titanium oksida dalam batuan sejenis toseki dari Pacitan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memvariasi konsentrasi asam sulfat yaitu 10 %, 20 %, 30 % dan waktu perendaman selama 15 menit, 30 menit, dan 45 menit. Semua percobaan dilakukan pada temperatur 110 ° - 120 ° C. Analisa kadar pengotor TiO2 dilakukan dengan spektrofotometer Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa batuan sejenis toseki dari Pacitan mempunyai kadar TiO2 sebesar 0,595 %. Kandungan TiO2 batuan tersebut setelah direndam dalam larutan H2SO4 10 % selama 15 menit, 30 menit, dan 45 menit menjadi 0,475 %, 0,463 %, dan 0,450 %, sedangkan yang direndam dalam larutan H2SO4 20 % menjadi 0,452 %, 0,415 %, dan 0,410 %, serta yang direndam dalam larutan H2804 30 % menjadi 0,402 %, 0,286 %, dan 0,275 %. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa mutu batuan sejenis dapat ditinkatkan melalui proses perendaman dalam asam sulfat dengan temperatur 110 -120 °C. Pengurangan kadar titanium oksida mencapai 53,78 % yang terjadi pada perendaman asam sulfat 30 % selama 45 menit. Effect of H2SO4 consentration and diping time on titanium oxide content in toseki rock from Pacitan had been analyzed. The research was done by variating 112504 come, i.e.10 %, 20 %, and 30 % and also by variating diping time, i.e.15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 45 minutes. All experiment were carried out at 110 °- 120 °C. TiO2 content was analyzed by spectrophotometer UV-Vis. The results show that TiO2 content in the original Toseki rock was 0.59%. The content of TiO2 after soaking in 112504 10% at 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 45 minutes were 0.475%, 0.463% and 0.450% reepectively. The content of TiO2 after soaking in H2SO4 20% at 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 45 minutes were 0.452%, 0.415%, and 0.410% reepectively and also the content of TiO2 after soaking in H2504 30% at 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 45 minutes were 0.402%, 0.286%, and 0.275% reepectively. From this research it can be concluded that the quality of the rock can be increased by soaking in H2504 at 110° - 120 °C. The TiO2 content was reduced to 53.78% when the rock was soaked in H2SO4 30% for 45 minutes. vi
