Abstract
Surfaktan merupakan komponen utama dalam detergen. Semakin banyak orang menggunakan detergen sebagai bahan pencuci maka semakin banyak buih yang ditimbulkan dan terbuang ke lingkungan sehingga menimbulkan pencernaran air. Untuk memonitor keberadaan surfaktan dalam limbali detergen maka dicobakan alat generator foam dan sensor sehingga dapat ditentukan Batas konsentrasi pembentukan built pada surfaktan ABS dan SDS, pengaruh konsentrasi ion Mg, Ca dan pengaruh pH terhadap built yang ditimbulkan olch surfaktan ABS dan pengaruh konsentrasi ion Mg terhadap SDS. Larutan surfaktan dimasukkan dalam generator foam dan dialiri udara selama 30 detik. Built yang terbentuk di deteksi dengan alat sensor kemudian buih didiamkan selama satu jam dan diukur tinggi buih yang terbentuk dari permukaan larutan surfaktan sampai puncak built yang terbentuk. Larutan surfaktan ABS mulai terbentuk buih pada konsentrasi 50 ppm dan surfaktan SDS pada konsentrasi 125 ppm. Pada surfaktan ABS built semakin banyak dengan kenaikan konsentrasi ion Mg, Ca dan pada suasana basa. Sedang pada surfaktan SDS built semakin banyak dengan kenaikan konsentrasi Mg. Surfactant is the important component in detergent. The more people use detergent as washing agent the more foam produced so that it result in water pollution. To monitor the existence of surfactant in detergent waste, a generator foam and sensor instrument were used so that the limit concentration of foam production of ABS and SDS could be determined and so the affect of Mg, Ca and pH to ABS, and Mm to SDS. Surfactant solution were poured into generator foam and airted for about 30 seconds. Foam produced was detected by the sensor instrument after that the foam was allowed to stand in one hour and the foam high 'was measured from the surface of solution to top point of the foam. ABS surfactant begin to produce foam at 50 ppm and SDS at 125 ppm. In ABS surfactant the foam produced was increased Mg, Ca concentration increased and the bases condition.
