Abstract
Based on 2005 visitation data known that average of Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) of the Garuda Pavilion Kariadi Hospital was still about 53,05%. This was lower than standard National of Ministry of Health BOR which is 70-80%. Attemps to increase BOR is to improve service management of patient recovery through factors associated to care service. One of the care service factors that influence patient’s recovery is nurse- physician collaboration factor. Although on average nurses at Garuda Pavilion were DIII (Nursing College) but there were still complains from specialists that some nurses have to improve skill, hospitality and communication, so this can influence specialist’s work satisfaction. Purpose of this study was to analyze influence of the nurse collaboration factors to the specialist’s work satisfaction at inpatient unit of the Garuda Pavillion dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang. This study was observational with survey method to explain the relation of dependent and independent variables. This was a cross- sectional study. Population of this study was 100 specialists that ever practice at inpatient unit of the Garuda Pavilion dr. Kariadi Hospital. Sample size was 60, based on inclusion criteria to physicians who at least 3 times managing inpatient at the Garuda Pavillion. Bivariate analysis in this study was chi-square analysis. For multivariate analysis we used logistic regression analysis. Bivariate analysis result shows association between perception of the nurse’s capacity and skill (X² = 17.019, p value 0.000 < 0.05), perception about nurse’s capability to do physician’s delegation duty (X² = 13.015, p value 0.0001 < 0.05), perception about nurse’s capability in cinical routine duty (X² = 25.321, p value 0.0001 < 0.05), perception on the nurse’s hospitality and attendance in visit (X² = 5.288, p value 0.021 < 0.05), and perception about nurse- physician communication (X² = 7.854, p value 0.005 < 0.05), with specialist’s work satisfaction. Multivariate anaysis result suggest existence of simultaneous influence of the nurse collaboration factor include perception about nurses capability in clinical routine duty (Exp(B) 58.293, p value 0.000 < 0.05). and perception on nurse- physician communication (Exp(B) 4.375, p value 0.000 < 0.05), to spcialist’s work satisfaction. Perception of nurse’s capability to do clinical routine is a nurse collaboration factor that most influencing to the specialist’s work satisfaction for having highest Exp(B) rate, 58.293.
