Abstract

Dalam rangka menggali dan memanfaatkan potensi sumber daya alam (tumbuhan), maka dilakukan isolasi senyawa bioaktif dari dam pare alas ( Momordica charantia, Linn) dan uji aktivitasnya dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan ekstrasi menggunakan pelarut etil asetat secara sokhletasi, ekstrak kasar yang diperoleh difraksinasi dengan berbagai pelarut ( n - heksan, klorofonn dan etil asetat ) menggunakan kromatografi kolom vakum. Dihasilkan senyawa yang berbentuk kristal yang berwarna laming keemasan dengan titik leleh 57 -58 °C dan positif terhadap reagen Mayer, menunjukkan senyawa alkaloid Terhadap senyawa ini dilakukan uji aktivitas biologis dengan menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test dimana diperoleh nilai letal dosis (L050 ) sebesar 210,2549 ppm dan berdasarkan basil analisa spektrum ultra violet dan infra merah dapat ditentukan bahwa senyawa yang diperoleh mempunyai serapan maksimum pada panjang gelombang 241 nm, mempunyai gugus fungsi OH, menunjukkan adanya cincin aromatis dan menunjukkan adanya jenis substitusi orto. Struktur molekul senyawa hasil isolasi ini belum dapat ditentukan sebab data spektroskopi belum dapat dikumpulkan secara lengkap. In order to disclosure and to use natural resources ( plants ), isolatian the bioactive compounds contained in Momordica charantia, Linn leaves and determination of biological activity by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method had been done. Extraction was done by soxhlet with ethyl acetate as a solvent. The crude extract was fractionalized by several eluents ( n- hexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate ) using vacum colonm chromatography. One compound was found as a result which have character golden crystal, have melting point in range 57 - 58° C and give positive result in Mayer test, showed alcaloid compound. To this compound had been done determination of biological activity by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method and the value on dosage lethality ( 1.050 ) was 210.2549 ppm. The analysis using ultra violet and infra red spectroscopy showed that compound from isolation have maximum absorption at 241 nm, functional group of hydroxyl, aromatic and substituent in orto position. Molecular structure of this compound hasn't been determined yet because spectroscopy data hasn't yet been obtained completely.
