Abstract
Penggunann zeolit alarn terbatas sebagai adsorben dan periukar kation, dan telah diketahui bahwa zeolit alarn cukup efektif untuk mengadsorb asam asetat, tetapi keefektivan tersebut perlu diketahui bila dicampur dengan senyawa yang lebih kecil. Besar adsorbat yang menutup situs aktiv zeolit dapat dicari setelah konstanta adsorpsi diketahui. Pada pentlitiaan ini etanol digunakan sebagai adsorbat pembandin,R dan sekaligus dipelajari pengaruh etanol bila dicampur dengan asam asetat dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi. Parameter yang ditentukan waktu kontak adsorbsi optimum, konsentrasi adsorbat optimum dan konsentrasi maksimum adsorbat yang teradsorb trap satuan massa adsorbeft Basil penelitian menunjukan bahwa zeolit mampu mengadsorb asam asetat dengan konsentrasi optimum 0,6 N, waktu kontak optimum 1,5 jam sedangkan untuk etanol konseittrasi optimum 1,2 N, waktu kontak adsorbsi optimum 1 jam, konstanta adsorpsi asarn asetat 6,4761gLN clan konstanta adsorpsi etanol .0,22125g/N. Adsorpsi secara terpisah konsentrasi maksimum etanol yang teradsorb 0,9824 Nig lebih banyak dari pada asam asetat 0,0249556-Nig dan adsorpsi pada campuran dengan berbagai variasi, zeolit mampu mengadsorp asam asetat berkisar antara 0,006430NJg (43,33707%) sampai 0,020600N1g (74,5024%) dan etanol 0,1746Nig (3,7191%) sampai 0,3849N1g (7,8738%). Pada campu•an asam asetat dan etanol ini asam asetat lebih efektif diadsorp oleh zeolit. Dari pentlitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada adsorbsi secara terpisah etanol lebih banyak teradsorb, tetapi pada adsorpsi kompetisi asam asetat teradsorb lebih efektif. Natural zeolite is only used as adsorbent and cation exchange, acetic acid is adsorbed effectively by natural zeolite. Comparation was used ethanol as adsorbate, so adsorption of ethanol and acetic acid competitively was investigated. Constant adsorption was determined to count how much adsorbate was adsorb by zeolit.The research result showed that optimum concentration of ethanol (1.2 N) was more much than optimum concentration of acetic acid (0.6 N) but adsorption time of ethanol (60 minutes) was shorter than adsorption time of acetic acid (90 minutes), constant adsorption of ethanol was 0.22125giN and acetic acid was 6.4761WN . Ethanol and acetic acid were adsorbed competitively showed that acetic acid was adsorbed more effective than ethanol. The base of statement is number of adsorbed concentration of ethanol and acetic acid were compared between 0,1746 Ng-1 (3,7191%) to 0.38491\17g (.8738%) for ethanol and 0.00643Nig (43.33707%) to 0,0206Nig (74.5024%) for acetic acid. Acetic acid has a number of maximum adsorbed concentration 0.02496N1g and ethanol has a number of maximum adsorbed concentration 0.9824 Nig. To sum up from this research that ethanol was adsorbed by natural zeolite more much than acetic acid but in copetiting adsorption" between acetic acid and ethanol, acetic acid was adsorbed more effective than ethanol.
