Abstract

The Law No. 1 year 1970 about occupational safety declared that each worker had to obtain a protection of occupational safety and health through reporting of any occupational accident by either management or employer using a standard format. Analysis of an occupational accident happened. The analyzed data was needed by manager as information for determining policy and program of accident prevention. Information system of occupational accident at Pupuk Sriwidjaja Company, which is being done, has weaknesses. The weaknesses outlined here are comprised of completeness, quickness, easiness, accrateness, and clearness of the resulted information quality. Aim of this research was to develop information system of occupational accident for supporting activity of occupational accident prevention at Pupuk Sriwidjaja Company. Research was conducted using two steps namely a qualitative research and pre-experimental research. The qualitative research applied a method of a system development cycle and pre-experimental research used one group pre and posttest design. Subjects were Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Office, Head of department of Fire Intervention and Occupational Accident, Technical Group of Occupational Safety, Data Manager, and Head of Shift and a Worker. Data were analyzed through content analysis and descriptive analysis. Result of Mc Nemar test shows there is any difference between the old and the new system in terms of the resulted information quality, with probability value = 0.031 (less than or equal to 0.05). Those divegences are in terms of quickness (1x16 hours for internal reporting and 2x24 hours for external reporting), and easies (capability of system to update data/information and easieness to obtain data/information in accordance with necessity of a user). Beside that, the divergences are in terms of accurateness (statistical calculation of occupational accident and analysis without mistakes), and clearness (description of an accident trend and easiness to understand data/information). Completeness has no any difference in terms of fulfilling internal necessity (p = 0.250) and fulfilling of external necessity (p = 0.125). Sumber Utama : www.mikm.undip.ac.id
