Abstract
Telah dilakukan penentuan kandungan residu klorin di dalam air minum (air FAM) dengan metoda Iodometri. Hasilnya adalah- (0,445 - 0,875). mg/1 sampel air minum sebelum pendidihan, sedangkan untuk sampel air minum sesudah pendidihan hasilnya adalah nol atau tidak ada. Fenentuan kandungan trihalometan (THM) dalam hal ini kloroform dikerjakan dengan Kromatografi Gas-Cair. Hasilnya adalah nol atau tidak ada kandungan trihalometan (THM)- pada air minum sebelum pendidihan dan sesudah pendidihan. Pendidihan air minum tidak menaikkan konsentrasi trihalometan (THM), tetapi justru dapat menghilangkan residu klorin•yang masih tertinggal di dalam air minum tersebut. Karena itu pendidihan air minum sebelum diminum tetap diperlukan. Determination of residual chlorine content in drihking water has been done by lodometric method. The result was (0.445 - '0.875) mg/1 for the sample before boiling and zero after boiling. Determination of Trihalomethanes (THMs) content, i.e. called chloroform, has been done by Gas-Liquid Chromatography. The result was zero or Trihalomethanes (THMs) was not present in drinking water before and after boiling. The boiling of drinking water does not increase trihalomethanes (THMs) concentration, but remove residual chlorine left in the drinking water. Because of that, boiling drinking water before consuming is still necessery.
