Abstract

Based on patient complain in dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo hospital Balikpapan, from complain box were 65% unsatisfied because of late doctor visit, 15% because of hard to connect the doctor and 20% because of short doctor treatment. The result of previous study with 6 specialist doctors who worked in out patient unit showed that unsatisfied doctors unfulfilled by management evevthough the management has been efforted to fullfil working satisfaction of specialist doctor. The main point of this research was to know some factors that related with working satisfaction of specialist doctors in out patient unit dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan. The kind of this research was descriptive explanatory with cross sectional approach and the research method was survey. Beside quantitative approach also qualitative with deep interview and than analysis content. The population and sample of this research were all specialist doctors who worked in out patient unit dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan year 2006 with amount 42 specialist doctors. Analysis univariate in this research was frequency distribution and analysis bivariate used Pearson Correlation for normal data and Rank Spearman for upnormal data. The result of univariate analysis show that most respondent ( 52,4% ) unsatisfied with job as specialist doctor in out patient unit RSKD Balikpapan. Majority responden ( 61,9% ) have medium perception about working situation, 59,5% respondent have medium perception about supervise, 85,7% respondent have medium perception about salary, 69,0% have medium perception about relationship with colleague and 73,8% respondent have perception that chance of promotion was not good. The result of bivariate analysis showed that there was connection between working situation ( p=0,001), there was connection between supervise ( p=0,0001 ), there was no connection between perception of salary ( p=0,061 ), there was no connection between perception of worker colleague ( p=0,400 ), there was no connection between chance of promotion ( p=0,134 ) and working satisfaction of specialist doctors. From deep interview with management state that the management has been efforted to fullfil working satisfaction of specialist doctors, but from deep interview with 3 of 5 specialist doctors they were unsatisfied with the management effort and there was no effort from management to fullfil doctors satisfaction working.
