Abstract

Te].ah dilakukan penelitian pengaruh garam FeCt.61470 terhadap laju esterifikasi darn asam asetat clan ei-hanol pada keadaan alkohol berlebih dengan menggnnakan katalisator H2SO4. Kondisi temperatur operasiona1 reaksi esterifikasi dilakukan pada 40 - 70°C. Penghentian reaksi dilakukan dengan pendinginan cepat ke dalam campuran Analisa basil dilakukan dengan mengamati pernhnhan konsentrasi asam asetat. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian garam FeC1a.6H20 dapat memberikan hasil yang Jebih banyak dengan efektifitas sebesar 15,8% . Pemberian garam FeCI 3 .6H 20 ini dapat dilakukan pada kondisi konsentrasi. katalator H2 SO4 kurang dari 0,65 M. The influence of Fe Cl 9 .6H 2 0 salt to esterification rate from acetat acid and the excessive ethanol, with H 30. 2 4 catalisator has been researched. The condition of the operational temperature on the .esterification reaction Is done at 400 to 700C. The reaction ceasing is done by the fast cooling-off into ice-water mixture. By observating the, change of acetat acid concentration, the product analysis is done. The reseakch result showed that the addition of FeC13 .6H2 0 salt can give much product with 15,8% effectivity. FeC11.6H20 salt addition can be done on the condition of 142304 catalisator concentration less than 0.65 M.
