Abstract

Penelitian tentang pengaruh katalis dan suhu telah dilakukan terhadap proses hidrolisa minyak kelapa sawit. Hidrolisa dilakukan dalam labu leher tiga selama 5 jam. Dan dilanjutkan dengan memisahkan fase minyak dan fase airnya. Fase minyak yang diperoleh yang terdiri atas sisa minyak dan asam lemak dianalisa dengan menggunakan metode angka asam dan angka sabun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dengan penambahan katalis H2SO4 pekat sebanyak 5% berat sampel akan lebih mempercepat laju reaksi Wrirolisis dari keeepatan semula. Kecepatan reaksi hidrolisis paling besar dicapni pada rentang suhu 8000 sampai 10000. The research of the influences of catalyst and temperature had been done for palm oil by hidrolysis process. Hidrolysis was done using three necked flask for five hours. The phases of fat and water were sparated then fat phase that consist of fat residue and patty acid analysed using the methods of saponification and acid number. The research result showed that the addition of 5% H2SO4 catalyst from the weight, of sample would be able to increase the rate of hidrolysis reaction faster than the initial rate. The most increased rate of hidrolysis reaction occured at the range of temperature800C - 1000C.
