Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengukuran terhadap serat optik di jaringan kabel serat optik, dengan menggunakan metode hamburan balik, untuk mengetahui redaman serat optik terhadap days cahaya masukan. Metode hamburan balik yaitu salah sate metode pengukuran redaman yang memanfaatkan berkas radiasi hamburan yang arahnya menuju ujung masukan cahaya di pangkal serat optik. Dengan menggunakan metode ini dapat diukur serat, distribusi dan lokasi rugi, panjang serat dawn lokasi kerusakan yang ditunjukkan dalam graft dan Label event. Redman cahaya masukan oleh serat optik disebabkan oleh rugi-rugi serapan, hamburan, belokan, dan penggandengan moda. Have been measuring to optical fiber on optical fiber network- with using backscattering methode, for knowing optical fiber attenuation to light power input. Backscattering methode is a kind of attenuation measuring methode, which using scattering radiation on backward direction to end of optical fiber input. With using this methode, may be measzffedfiber loss, both distributed and localized, fiber length and to identify and locate faults,tis shown on the grafic and event table. Attenuation is caused by absorption losses, scattering losses, bending losses and mode coupling tosses. viii
