Abstract
Telah dilakukan peningkatan kekerasan permukaan baja karbon rendah melalui pendeposision unsur karbon pada permukaan baja karbon rendah dengan menggunakan plasma lueutan pijar RF (1?ff glow discharge plasma) dari gas benznna. Hasa kekerasan maksimum (287,0 KHN) terhadap variasi tekanan diperoleh pada. tekanan 0,4 Torr, suhu 300°C dan waktu 3 jam. Terhadap variasi suhu dan waktu, kekerasan maksimum (425,0 KHN) dicapai pada suhu 300°C dengan lama. waktu proses pendeposisian 4 jam pada tekanan 0,4 Torr. Sebagai perbandingan kekerasan mikro mula-mula baj a karbon rendah adalah 201,1 KIlN. Increasing of surface hardness of low iron carbon through depositioning has been done by using benzena (C6116) gaseous RF glow discharge plasma.
